A Growing Kingdom Purpose

Dwight and I met almost two years ago now when he was looking to engage in a Christian business owner community. He usually comes Peoria way - or we connect via Zoom - but every once in awhile a trip to southern IL is in order.

And today did not disappoint!

This man continues to persevere in the midst of battles that would have sent most anyone else packing by now. And there are more significant battles ahead, no doubt. But his vision is strong, his mission stronger, and his values run deep.

Our conversation over lunch today was inspiring on a number of levels. Yes, progress is being made as doors open. We are truly thankful for these blessings.

But beyond the more tangible steps that are being made (the Vision and Mission are coming together), I see his heart for Kingdom Purpose expanding.

A bulk of today's conversation centered on how a more intentional Kingdom Purpose might be built into the structure of his business - how God could work in and through their entire ecosystem to touch the lives of the people and families within their sphere of influence - and that their structure could be more intentional in helping to facilitate such Kingdom work.

This has always been at the heart of his vision for the unique offering he is bringing into the world - to serve the hearts and lives of the people in his sphere.

But today we got to Convene on his turf and dream a little bit more about the practical aspects of the structure and the various people God is bringing around him to help make it happen.

(The ribs were pretty good, too, but that's a story for another day.)

Stay strong, Dwight! And thank you for your heart focus on servant leadership.

Blessings to you, my friends!
